Best Buy Optimization Service Scam

Best Buy’s computer optimization service is a scam, according to a January 4th article posted on The Consumerist. Working with Consumer Reports, The Consumerist attempted to purchase computers from Best Buy that had not already been “optimized.” When The Consumerist’s secret shoppers were informed that there weren’t any models available that hadn’t been optimized, the secret shoppers were required to pay an extra $39.99 for the unwanted optimization service.
